Setting it up is quick and easy — just follow the simple steps in the guide below to get started 👇

Download & install UncensorVPN Android TV App

Let’s get started with the most basic of all steps. Get to know how you can download and install our UncensorVPN App on your Android TV device. Follow the steps below:

  • From your Android TV main menu, launch the Google Play Store and search for UncensorVPN.
  •  Click the UncensorVPN icon and select Install to get the App on your Android TV.
  • Once the installation is completed, go back to the Main menu and navigate to My Apps > UncensorVPN to launch it.

Once the UncensorVPN application is installed on your Android TV then it’s time for you to login to the application and start using its great features.

  • Launch UncensorVPN app
  • You’ll be asked to scan a QR code from your mobile/tablet camera upon scanning the code you will be redirected to this link.
  • You will be required to enter the six digit code appearing on your Android TV. Enter the code and hit Submit. Once done, the UncensorVPN application will automatically log you in.

When you log in to the UncensorVPN app for the first time on your Android phone, you’ll be asked to allow a connection request.

Before that, you’ll see our privacy policy screen — we recommend giving it a quick read before moving ahead. Once done, simply allow the configuration when prompted, and you’re all set to connect!

  • Press Allow Configuration.
  • Press OK.

We usually don’t recommend logging out of the UncensorVPN app — after all, who doesn’t want that extra layer of security while browsing?

But if you still prefer to log out, no worries! Just follow the steps below 👇

  • Tap the Profile🙍‍♂️icon from the left panel of the UncensorVPN app.
  • Tap Sign Out.
  • Tap Yes to confirm and proceed.
  • You have successfully logged out from UncensorVPN application

  • For users who are connecting to UncensorVPN for the first time, they can simply tap the Connect icon at the center and the app will connect you to the fastest VPN server.
  • If your connection was successful, you should see the connected status. To disconnect, tap the button located at the center of the UncensorVPN app.
  • Tap the Locations icon at the left panel of the UncensorVPN app.
  • Choose your desired location from the list of countries.
  • You are now connected to the UncensorVPN app with your desired location.
  • You are now connected to the UncensorVPN app with your desired location.

This feature lets you explore and connect to different cities within a country—right from the UncensorVPN app. Want to pick a specific city? Just follow the steps below 👇

  • Tap the Locations icon at the left panel of the UncensorVPN app.
  • Tap the Arrow icon provided besides locations and a list of cities will be displayed.
  • List of available cities will be displayed next to each country.
  • Choose your desired City to get connected.
  • You are now Connected to your desired city.

Our disconnect option is just as easy to connect. Here’s how you can learn to disconnect it.

  • Just hover your cursor over the connected icon—it’ll turn black to let you know you can tap to disconnect.
  • Upon tapping the icon, you are now disconnected.

To switch between VPN protocols in the UncensorVPN app, make sure you’re disconnected first. Then, just turn off the “Automatic Protocol Selection” option to see and choose from the available protocols.

Each protocol can affect your connection’s speed and stability, so it’s important to pick the right one. We usually recommend sticking with the automatic option—it selects the best settings for you. But if that doesn’t work well in your case, feel free to try switching to another protocol manually. 

Protocol Guide:

Wireguard: (Recommended)

Wireguard provides a fast and secure VPN connection and it’s usually used for web browsing and streaming.

UDP: 

UDP is mainly used for streaming and downloading. It provides a fast VPN connection with medium encryption.

TCP:

TCP is more reliable, but also a little slower, and is usually used for web browsing. 

IKEv2: 

IKEv2 is one of the fastest VPN protocols that provides stable connection and is usually used for streaming and downloading.

  • Tap the Settings ⚙️ icon from the left panel of the UncensorVPN app.
  • Select Advanced.
  • In the Advanced settings tab, press Connection Protocol.
  • Toggle Automatic selection and a popup will appear. Tap OK.
  • Choose your desired protocol
  • A pop-up will appear, press Proceed.

Congratulations! You have successfully changed the protocol.

Split tunneling lets you choose which apps or device traffic go through the encrypted VPN tunnel—while everything else connects to the internet normally. Want to turn it on? Just follow the steps below 👇

How to activate split tunnelling? Follow the instructions below 👇

  • Tap the Settings icon ⚙️ from the left panel of the UncensorVPN app.
  • Tap Advanced.
  • In the Advanced settings tab. Press the arrow icon > to set up the Split tunneling feature.
  • Press Split Tunneling. By default, split tunneling is set to All apps that will use VPN.
  • Select Allow only selected apps to use VPN (if you would like to run specific apps via VPN IP and the rest of the apps via your ISP IP).
  • Select Do not allow selected apps to use VPN (if you don’t want to run specific apps via VPN IP).

  • Tap the Settings icon ⚙️ from the left panel of the UncensorVPN app.
  • Tap Advanced.
  • In the Advanced settings tab, you will be able to see the Clear my preferences option.
  • Press Clear my preferences to reset the app settings to default. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm. Press OK to proceed.

Always-On VPN keeps you protected by automatically connecting whenever your device accesses the internet.

This ensures you’re always connected to the VPN, so none of your online activity ever goes through your public IP.

  • Tap the Settings icon ⚙️ from the left panel of the UncensorVPN app.
  • Tap General.
  • Tap Always-on. And Tap Open Android Settings.
  • Toggle Always-on VPN. Once you enable Always-on, then the VPN will be automatically connected.
  • Toggle Block connections without VPN. You won’t have an Internet connection until the VPN successfully connects.
